Want to try your hand at a classic flan recipe?

Ingredients:

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 4 large eggs

- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

- 2 cups whole milk

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a small saucepan, melt the sugar over medium heat until it turns into a golden caramel. Be careful not to burn it. Pour the caramel into a 9-inch round baking dish, tilting the dish to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside to cool and harden.

3. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs until well blended. Add the sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until everything is well combined.

4. Pour the mixture over the hardened caramel in the baking dish.

5. Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan and pour enough hot water into the larger pan to reach halfway up the sides of the flan dish. This will create a water bath for the flan.

6. Carefully transfer the pans to the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the flan is set around the edges but still slightly jiggly in the center.

7. Remove the flan from the oven and let it cool to room temperature in the water bath. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

8. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the dish to loosen the flan. Place a serving plate on top of the dish and carefully flip it over to release the flan. The caramel sauce will flow over the top of the flan.

9. Slice and serve chilled. Enjoy!
